Redeemer Lincoln Square began worshiping in 2017 as a local expression of a gospel movement that has been growing across New York City since 1989.

1989

Redeemer Presbyterian Church co-founded by Tim & Kathy Keller

1996

Weekly attendance of 3,000+ people at four services

1997

Redeemer City to City (formerly known as Redeemer Church Planting Center) is formed

2003

Multi-site model (rather than “megachurch”) takes shape with East Side and two West Side sites

2006

Purchase and development of permanent West Side ministry home

2016

Rise Campaign accelerates gospel influence across the city

2017

Redeemer Lincoln Square holds its first service on Easter Sunday

Today, we stand at an inflection point of impact and possibility.

Over 800 people call Redeemer Lincoln Square home today. As membership grows larger and more diverse, we want to be both strategic and imaginative about new ways for people to gather, grow, and connect — and to create space to welcome many more. We’re also seeing new economic and cultural pressures around the city that invite us to respond with a restorative presence.

Expand ministry with a second site

A generous donor is extending us the remarkable gift of access to a long-term lease for a building on West 53rd Street. We will pursue funding to cover essential equipment and maintenance for this space, with the goal of creating a hub for midweek ministry and a base for more people to hear the gospel.

KEY INITIATIVES

Develop a Comprehensive Strategy for Evangelism

Recognizing that we are a church not for ourselves but for others, our desire is to shift the congregational mindset from passive attendance to active witness. We will build a support system that empowers our members to be the primary bridge between the Gospel and the people in their everyday lives.

Serve the needs of our local communities, emphasizing the Lincoln Square and Hell's Kitchen neighborhoods

We believe God has called us to be a part of and serve the Lincoln Square and Hell’s Kitchen communities and the people who live in them. Therefore, we will develop relationships and partnerships with ministries and organizations already serving the needs of these communities. We will encourage and facilitate our congregants to serve with us in these ministries and organizations.

Catalyze Gospel Multiplication through Planting Churches and Stewarding Global Partnerships

New churches are an essential way to bring more New Yorkers into relationship with the gospel. We’ll establish funds and partner initiatives to serve this purpose in collaboration with the Redeemer Network.

Develop relationships with Redeemer Network churches and affiliate ministries to foster a movement of the Gospel in New York City and beyond

It is our desire to see a movement of the gospel in New York City and beyond. We recognize that we cannot—and should not—do this alone. Therefore, we will partner and collaborate with the Redeemer Network of churches and ministries toward this end.

Growth & Momentum

We thank God for what he is doing at Redeemer Lincoln Square — and the more that's possible.

We don't pursue growth for growth's sake. We seek to recognize and celebrate the joy that arises from changed lives. Our 2025 congregational survey revealed ways in which the Redeemer Lincoln Square community is growing and evolving.

More than half of attendees say Redeemer Lincoln Square has influenced their choice to stay in NYC.

Nearly two-thirds of members make time for prayer every day.

More than half of respondents attend a Redeemer Lincoln Square-hosted activity outside of Sunday worship at least once a month.

Roughly 800 people call Redeemer Lincoln Square their home church, with an average of nearly 500 in worship.

75% of attendees are under the age of 45, with younger attendance growing.

Attendees rate Redeemer Lincoln Square highly for its resonant vision, pastoral leadership, high-quality music and opportunities for spiritual growth.

87% of respondents say Redeemer Lincoln Square’s teaching has matured their personal faith.
