Michael has been a part of Redeemer life and ministry from its inception in 1989; and with his wife Sara and daughters Lucy and Kate, they started Redeemer Lincoln Square in April 2017. He went to NYC public school for both elementary and middle school and attended Vanderbilt University for his undergraduate work. After working at London City Mission and New Life Fellowship in Queens, he attended Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, receiving both an M.Div and a Th.M in Apologetics magna cum laude. He served as Pastor of Community Life at Citylife Presbyterian Church in Boston before returning to the city to start a new Reformed University Fellowship. His Ph.D. is from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in Computational Linguistics applied to Historical Theology. Sara is a Nurse Practitioner.

Austin was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. He is the oldest of five children and counts being a big brother as one of life's greatest privileges. Austin attended North Carolina State University for his undergraduate education, where he served as a Bible study leader with the college ministry, CRU. He earned his Master of Divinity (concentration in pastoral counseling) through the Rawlings School of Divinity at Liberty University. While completing his graduate degree, Austin worked as a Ministry Intern at his home church, Christ the King Presbyterian (PCA), and later as a counseling intern at Hope Counseling Services. Austin enjoys most outdoor activities, reading, working out at the gym, sipping strong coffee, thought-provoking podcasts and good conversations. Along the way, Austin has become passionate about how the sense of self we live out of is completely transformed by the unrelenting love of God and how that truth changes everything. A healthy family is often the epicenter of a person’s spiritual formation, and Austin is excited to partner with children, youth and families to engage in that work.

Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Brooke has lived in New York City since 2013 and currently serves as the Director of Communications. Before her role at Redeemer Lincoln Square, she worked at NBC News for over 10 years. She traveled the country reporting for Nightly News with Lester Holt and the TODAY Show, sharing people’s personal stories with the greater audience. Before her journalism stint, she began her career as an NBC Page. When not working, she loves traveling, reading, running, coffee and exploring all that New York has to offer. Brooke has been married to her husband, Casey, since 2015 and they have two young girls, Hazel & Zoey. They reside on the Upper West Side in Manhattan.

Bruce was born in Los Angeles, but was raised in Alabama. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Education, and he also has an MDiv from Reformed Theological Seminary and a DMin from New Geneva Theological Seminary. He wrote his dissertation on “Reclaiming the Role of Elder as Shepherd.” Prior to full-time vocational ministry, Bruce taught history and government in a public high school. He has since spent the last 25 years serving as a pastor at three churches in Tennessee, Alabama and Maryland. Bruce and his wife Kathy have three grown children — Sarah, Mike and Matt — and nine grandchildren. They have fond memories taking weekend trips to the city, filling their time with Broadway shows and dining at as many restaurants as possible on a quest to discover the best cheesecake the city has to offer. Bruce also enjoys golfing, reading, visiting museums and having long dinners with friends.

Carolann started working at Redeemer on the Rise Campaign in 2015, and in 2018, she joined the Redeemer Lincoln Square team. Carolann is a strong extrovert and loves having the opportunity to meet and connect with newcomers in the Redeemer Lincoln Square community, as well as care for and invest in all those who faithfully serve at our church. Carolann has loved cities her entire life — she grew up in Prague, Czech Republic (unbiasedly the most beautiful city in the world) and lived in Chattanooga, Tennessee (nicknamed the Scenic City) before moving to the greatest city in the world, New York City in 2014. After graduating from Covenant College, she served as a Youth Director at First Presbyterian Church, Chattanooga for six years. She currently lives on the UWS with her husband Trey and their children, Colin, Elle and Maeve.

Cassidy is from Texas and moved to New York City in 2017. She attended Tarleton State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Administrative Systems and Secondary Education. She first moved to New York for an internship, not expecting to move here permanently, but instantly fell in love with the city and people. You can find Cassidy always searching for new restaurants and coffee shops to try and exploring different neighborhoods. Thus, Cassidy is the person in your friend group that always has suggestions for where we should go for dinner. Cassidy plays an integral role in office management, administrative support and communications and events execution.

Erin currently serves at Redeemer Lincoln Square, where she focuses on community leadership development and spiritual formation. She holds an MDiv and previously worked at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, GA in shepherding care and women's ministry. Erin believes in the gift of community and the space it creates for authentic relationships and meaningful dialogue that help us more fully understand the relevance of the Bible in our current culture and context so that we might enjoy more of his love for us and his world. She finds it a great joy to be on the journey of beholding how Jesus is at work in his world today and experiencing his goodness, light, joy, and healing as we turn to him for help. She treasures quality time with her husband and four children and appreciates the restorative practice of slowing down to appreciate life's simple pleasures, particularly lingering over al fresco meals filled with good conversations.

Born and raised in Jackson, MS, Ginny moved to Nashville, TN to attend Belmont University, and made her home in Music City for many years. She is a singer-songwriter, author, and advocate, committed to answering God’s call to care for those in need. Over the past two decades, since graduating with her Bachelor of Music Education, she has collaborated with renowned artists such as Michael W. Smith, Jim Brickman and Rachael Lampa, and shared stages with an array of artists and authors including Lauren Daigle, Drew Holcomb, Amy Grant, Sarah McLachlan, Joni Eareckson-Tada and Shane & Shane. Her music, which transcends genre boundaries, has been featured in television and film and has earned her three Dove Awards and millions of online streams. Beyond her musical achievements, Ginny has a history of partnerships with organizations who do justice and love mercy, including Compassion International, International Justice Mission, Atlas Free and Habitat for Humanity. She received her Masters in Biblical Studies at Reformed Theological Seminary in 2018. When Ginny’s not getting ready for Sundays or writing new material, she enjoys long, leisurely walks or dinners with friends.

Haesu grew up in New York in a non-religious home. She graduated from Cornell University, where she grew to love, trust and obey God. After graduating from Cornell, she served as Ministry Intern at Bethany Christian Campus Church for four years. Never imagining she would leave the Northeast, Haesu moved to Orlando in 2021 to pursue a Master of Divinity at Reformed Theological Seminary, where she served as a Teaching Assistant for three classes. Though she misses aspects of Orlando, Haesu is excited to be back in New York and serve at Redeemer Lincoln Square! She cares deeply about building relationships and growing with others toward the hope found in Jesus. Haesu also loves animals and enjoys good sweets, playing games and spending time with friends.

Jenny is a native New Yorker — born in Brooklyn, raised in Queens, attended high school in the Bronx and works/lives in Manhattan. She received her B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies from Cornell University, her Ed.M. in International Education Policy from Harvard University and her J.D. from Fordham University. Over the course of her career, she’s worked as a special education teacher, children’s health policy researcher and in sports management, and most recently she’s spent over a decade as a practicing attorney. She first joined Redeemer Lincoln Square as Director of Community Life, shaping our important Community Group (CG) system, helping us cultivate a culture of inclusion for those looking to get more involved at Redeemer Lincoln Square, and teaching, growing and caring for individuals in our church. As Executive Director, Jenny oversees the day to day of our church, managing our staff and budget and strategizing initiatives aligned with our vision and mission.

Marc, a mostly native of Queens, graduated from Dartmouth College in 1998. After spending time in Washington, D.C., Boston and abroad in Germany, Marc heeded his growing desires to return home and serve the churches of NYC. His first step in that direction was attending Princeton Theological Seminary. After graduating in 2010, Marc landed in Park Slope at Resurrection Brooklyn for 8 years. Most recently he took a call out west and served as Assistant Pastor for Grace Pasadena in Los Angeles County. As much as he enjoyed the other coast, God called him and his family back home in Summer 2024. Marc and his wife, Balem, are happy to be home and part of LSQ, where he oversees the pastoral care ministry, young adult ministry and the Diaconate.. Marc, Balem and their two children enjoy indoor climbing, eating good food, exploring and thinking about reading.

Bekah has a passion for teaching the sufficiency of Scripture for everyday life. She holds a Master of Divinity in Theology and Biblical Counseling, and she brings with her a variety of experiences — working on church staff teams, leading ministries and serving as Executive Director and Co-Founder of Anchored Virtual. Having first attended Redeemer as a college student in 2004, her heart never left the city. Bekah is married to Andrew, and they have three daughters: Maggie Claire, Charley Brave and Ellis Jane. The Hannahs have purposefully moved back to New York because they believe raising their children in the city is both a calling and a privilege. As Director of Children’s Ministry, Bekah seeks to equip parents on how to raise their children here, love and serve families and encourage everyone toward Christ.

In 2022, Sydney moved to New York City from Chattanooga, TN. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Covenant College, where she also ran track and cross country. Sydney is a full time teacher at The Geneva School of Manhattan. She loves teaching her third grade students, as well as coaching track and cross country. A native and enthusiast of Richmond, Virginia, Sydney looks forward to family time with her three siblings on the Chesapeake Bay, and is especially thankful that her older brother made her an aunt. Sydney is delighted to work on organizing and preparing lessons for our LSQ Kids, and is thankful to put her education skills and experience to use in ministry. She is excited to make an investment into the future of Redeemer Lincoln Square and the city’s community at large. Sydney enjoys sailing, traveling, rock climbing, eating Van Leeuwen and listening to John Prine.

A native of Ohio, Trenton moved to New York City in 2024 and currently serves as the Discipleship Coordinator at Redeemer Lincoln Square. Trenton plays an important role in providing support to our pastors and helps lead various discipleship efforts, organizing seminars, coordinating community events and managing the diaconate fund. He is passionate about building meaningful connections within the church and helping people grow in their faith through intentional community and service. It’s a joy to come alongside others as they discover the richness of life with Jesus in New York. Outside of work, you can usually find him reading a good book, exploring NYC’s coffee scene or spending time with friends. He loves being part of a church that is committed to serving both its people and its neighborhood with compassion and purpose.

Vanessa and her husband Marcus first met in the third grade, and were high school sweethearts. They have three adult daughters Kayla, Sydney and Chelsey. Prior to moving to the city in the summer of 2022, Vanessa served as the Director of Women’s Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Augusta, GA for five years. She is a Bible teacher and regular conference speaker. She received her MDiv and DMin in Cultural Apologetics and Communication at Covenant Theological Seminary. Vanessa formerly served as Diversity Advisor for the PCA’s Women’s Ministry and the former co-host of a podcast called Something To Talk About. Vanessa enjoys a good cup of tea, a moderate hike and is refueled by nature. She enjoys good conversation with old friends and the excitement of making new ones. As our Director of Community Life, she is an integral part of our Pastoral Care team, helping shape community through Community Groups and caring for women in the church, as well as collaborating in the development of a culture of evangelism, public faith and justice.
