Because joining a church isn’t just about signing up — it’s about choosing to belong to a community that cares for one another, wrestles with life’s biggest questions and works together to bring hope and renewal to the city. It means having people to walk with you through both joys and struggles, and it gives you a place where your presence and contributions matter.
Take the next step to become a member:
Following the class, you will complete your application (spouses, please do your own application).
Meet with either a pastor, elder or deaconess for your membership interview (45 to 60 minutes).
After your interview, your name will be submitted to the monthly Session meeting for approval.
Married couples who both profess the Christian faith will interview together.
Take your membership vows at a Sunday worship service.
If you have not been baptized before, your baptism will be scheduled for the same service.
Transfer membership:
If you’d like to join Redeemer Lincoln Square, please have your former church email us at lsq@redeemerlsq.com with a letter that states 1) you are a member in good standing, and 2) they are releasing you to the spiritual care of Redeemer Lincoln Square. Additionally, if you’re looking to transfer your membership to another church, please email us.
You will need to complete the membership process first (see above). Be sure to discuss your desire to be baptized at your membership interview. This will allow you to be scheduled for baptism on the day you take your membership vows.
We will baptize infants of Redeemer Lincoln Square church members. Please read our overview of Redeemer’s position on infant baptism. To learn more and to schedule a baptism, please email us.
Membership process for children in 5th through 8th grade:
Students participate in 6 weeks of discussion and exploration of the membership vows and foundations of the faith, both in class and with their parents.
Students, adult mentors and parents prayerfully discern a child's readiness to make a sincere, heartfelt public profession of faith.
Upon taking the same five membership vows as adults, we welcome these baptized communicants as full members of the church body, enabling them to participate in communion, serve alongside other church members and further grow in their faith.
